'THE MAKING OF' documents.
During the making of a work, I usually write in a studio work book thoughts and ideas (both technical and aesthetic) precipitated by the many obstacles and dilemmas which inevitably arise.
Sometimes, after the work is completed, I have recorded these notes (interspersing them with extracts from the work) and produced a 'documentary' about the making of the work.
These can prove useful as teaching tools, and often I find myself referring back to them for support when facing a particularly daunting current problem.
As I solved a difficulty then, so I shall again now!
Some of these works use an image, others are purely acousmatic, all are multi-channel format.
The bounce to stereo therefore does them little good!
